Israel and Palestine together are about the size of Wales.
Below you can see a more detailed map showing the 1949 Armistice Line (Green Line), the route of the Israeli Separation Barrier (in black) and Areas A, B and C of the West Bank. Area A is under full Palestinian control although Israel is free to enter for various ‘security’ reasons. Area B is under Israeli military control, but Palestinian civil control and Area C, 60% of the West Bank is under full Israeli control. Areas A and B are in the cream colour and area C consists of all the variations from pale to sky blue. The red area around Jerusalem has been annexed by Israel, but is part of Palestinian territory.
